Jeffrey George Kerr, 69, husband of Jeanann Hardin Kerr, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at his home.
Born November 27, 1950 in Cynthiana, Kentucky to the late Dr. Donald F. & Catherine Connor Kerr, he was a 1967 graduate of Harrison County High School, attended the University of Kentucky, was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel and member of St. Edward Catholic Church. An award-winning columnist and member of the Kentucky Press Association, Jeff wrote for several Central Kentucky newspapers including the Cynthiana Democrat and the Kentucky Post, where he was part of the Pulitzer Prize nominated team that covered the Beverly Hills Supper Club fire. He also served as the long-time editor of the Winchester Sun.
Additional survivors include a sister, Connie (Tom) Herren, of Lexington; 2 brothers: Mike Kerr, of Lexington, and Joe Kerr, of Belleair Bluffs, Florida; and his beloved pets-- parrot, Cool Beans, & dog, Gracie.
Also preceding him in death was a niece, Amy Kerr Herrington.
A private inurnment will be held in St. Edward Catholic Cemetery.
